Fitting a gap

At the age of just 17, Monty George was aware that furniture sales hadn’t progressed into the digital selling space. Together with Dan Beckles, he approached this gap in the market with a business dedicated to beautiful yet affordable products, backed up with exceptional customer service. This was the beginning of Furniturebox.

Applying the same principles of selling online, such as fast and free delivery and affordability, to furniture, the business took off fast and saw a remarkable 267% increase in revenue in 2019/20. One of Britain’s fastest-growing online homeware brands, Furniturebox has an admirable tech stack, facilitating fast growth without compromise.

Supporting Furniturebox’s rapid expansion were two powerful marketplace integrations and some solid logistics.

Building blocks

Wayfair offers one of the world’s largest online selections of furniture, home furnishings, décor and goods. Driving customer loyalty and building market share, it’s no wonder the platform is affecting significant growth for its vendors. Vendors just like Furniturebox.

Through our Brightpearl | Wayfair integration, we smoothly placed Furniturebox products in front of Wayfair’s vast and targeted customer base. The Wayfair orders (with both dropship and Castlegate fulfilment models) started to flow effortlessly.

And we didn’t stop there.

ManoMano, one of Europe’s fastest growing ecommerce platforms specialising in selling DIY, home improvement and gardening supplies, seemed the next sure step for Furniturebox’s expansion. A Brightpearl | ManoMano integration allowed Furniturebox to fully automate the order fulfilment workflow. The sales kept rolling in.

Scalable solutions

With the business growing rapidly, logistics quickly became a core focus for optimisation. With a new state-of-art, capacity-rich and sustainable warehouse planned for the summer of 2022, there was no question that the tech had to be on point. b.solutions’ Brightpearl | Peoplevox integration answered the call. Providing a scalable warehouse management system for Furniturebox, Peoplevox freed the team from manual processing. Automated logistics allowed them to drive customer satisfaction whilst also increasing stock, extending product lines and installing the next day delivery cut-off time with the new warehouse solution.

“Furniture is now well-represented in the ecommerce space so it’s more important than ever that our set-up continues to stay ahead of our competitors. With b.solutions systems integrations in place, our processes are streamlined and efficient.”

James Ewens, Head of Ecommerce

Tech first

Furniturebox have described themselves as a ‘tech company that sells furniture online’ with substantiation that everything they have done has been about using tech to further growth. They believe that this ‘tech first’ mindset has given them the edge over the competition.

And with online furniture sales on the rise, an excellent Trustpilot rating we’re set to see Furniturebox’s growth continue.
