The beginning of the journey

Innovative Chemical Products Group (ICP Group) is one of the largest global coatings manufacturers in the world. Based in the US, ICP have achieved their status through acquisitions and organic growth. In 2020, ICP Group determined it was time to start using Brightpearl as their core digital operations platform. They engaged b.solutions to build integrations that would support them as a fast growing business and provide the structure they needed for an efficient system set-up.

The first step was to enhance the fulfilment and shipping process by integrating with the 3PL that ICP was using; Red Stag Fulfilment. With orders flowing to multiple locations automatically, the ICP team were freed up from manual processing to focus on further enhancing the business.

 

Working in harmony

ERP system Sage 500 needed to be integrated with Brightpearl next, to guarantee that the ecommerce and retail sides of the business were always working in harmony. Inbound and outbound data for the main distribution centres was automated and fed back into the ERP. This ensured that stock transfers between plants and distribution centres could now be efficiently managed and orders then picked up by Red Stag Fulfilment.

Opportunities to grow

Customer order history data was then pushed directly into Klaviyo via an integration with Brightpearl. The integration and following data segmentation enabled personalised, multi-channel marketing campaigns based on available ecommerce sales data. Not only building customer relationships, but also allowing ICP to upsell and cross-sell with highly relevant B2B and B2C product messages.

EDI solution SPS Commerce was then used for ICP to access a retail supply chain. By integrating Brightpearl with SPS Commerce, the relevant EDI documents could be sent to department stores, Home Depot and Office Depot, which boosted the retail presence of ICPs products. Expanding further, retail presence on Walmart.com was established by integrating this Marketplace with Brightpearl.
