Pitched for growth

A Case Study

From idea to itinerary

TentBox is the UK’s bestselling roof tent brand, founded in 2014 by two brothers on a simple idea: make adventure easier for everyone. By designing roof tents that pop open in seconds and fit almost any car, TentBox took the concept from a niche overlanding accessory to a mainstream way to travel, turning any vehicle into a camper without the faff of a traditional tent.

Powered by a direct-to-consumer model and a famously loyal community of TentBoxers, the brand built its name on clever, durable design and genuinely brilliant customer service. As demand grew across the UK and Europe, TentBox rolled out Brightpearl to give those operations the room to scale without losing the spontaneity its customers love.

Mapping the route

The brief was substantial. TentBox needed Shopify Advanced and Shopify Forward Allocation, four 3PL integrations across the UK and Europe, a Xero integration, plus our Data Export App to support their internal reporting.

Ready for launch

There were important details inside the wider project. Pre-order quantities had previously been managed in spreadsheets, so our Forward Allocation App gave TentBox a more reliable way to publish on-order stock to Shopify and support presales, while allowing demand across multiple warehouse flows to be reflected more clearly in stock visibility.

At the same time, our advanced Shopify integration gave the TentBox team greater control over country-specific tax handling and channel logic, with detailed tax-code mapping through Brightpearl and into Xero to support clearer reporting across UK and European sales.

“The project was well planned, clearly communicated and we were given all the information we needed to prepare for success.”

Neill Shurville, Founder

Room to roam

What made the project especially successful was the way TentBox approached it. Neil and his team treated UAT like part of the build, documenting workflows into detailed SOPs as testing progressed, enabling strong change management while assigning clear process ownership once TentBox were live in their new tech stack. Their preparation meant a large eight-integration launch stayed steady from the outset, with systems integrations stabilised within the first week.

For a brand built on removing friction from adventure, the final setup does the same behind the scenes, giving TentBox the freedom to scale without losing control.
